Sanjay Kumar

Sanjay Kumar, senior fellow at DCID, serves as Partner in the tax practice of Deloitte India. He also leads public policy for Deloitte India as well as for Deloitte Asia-Pacific. He has more than 28 years of experience with the Indian Revenue Service. He has worked extensively on tax administration reforms, trade issues and fiscal policy. His last assignment in the government was Secretary, Tax Administration Reform Commission. He is an IMF-empaneled tax administration assessor and has worked on World Bank assignments, including one for Saudi Arabian government to set up tax policy unit in the Finance Ministry. 

Kumar has been teaching at Duke University since 2007. He holds a PhD in Development Studies, and master’s degrees in economics and physics, and has published a number of papers in reputed international and national journals.
