Jonathan Abels

Executive Director

Jonathan Abels serves as the chief operating officer for the Duke Center for International Development. His responsibilities include administrative oversight of the Master of International Development Policy (MIDP) program, the Duke contribution to the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center, and the executive education and overseas advisory and consulting services of the center’s Public Finance Group. In particular, he coordinates the preparation of the center’s technical assistance projects and is responsible for the design and management of the center’s new initiatives.

Jon earned a master’s degree in history from Duke University before joining DCID.
