Open Innovation Conference calls for green economic development

The international forum, held at VinUniversity, explored the theme “Innovation for a Green Future.”

The inaugural International Open Innovation Conference, held at VinUniversity in Vietnam, Dec. 6-7, 2024, convened thought leaders, policymakers, leading scholars, scientists and practitioners to discuss innovative green solutions and sustainable development, particularly for Vietnam.

Hosted by VinUniversity in collaboration with Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, Saïd School of Business (Oxford University), SC Johnson Business School (Cornell University) and the Duke Center for International Development (Duke University), the conference covered topics in four main areas - people and education, technology and businesses, institutional environment and government policies, and healthcare and well-being.

Edmund Malesky, professor of political economy and director of the Duke Center for International Development, presented the keynote “Policy Design as a Catalyst for Green Growth: Managing and Measuring the Impact of Green Policies," providing insights into the crucial role of policy design in fostering green growth.
