How to Apply for the International Development Policy (IDP) Certificate

For those who entered Duke in Fall 2020 or after, you must submit the 15-Credit IDP Certificate Application. Students enrolled in the Graduate School must also complete the Graduate Certificate Program Application as required by their home department and upload it to the Online IDP Certificate Application.

Students who have completed the requirements without being officially enrolled in the certificate may add it to their academic record in the final semester. Submission of the 15-Credit IDP Certificate Completion Form is required. The deadline to submit this completion form and have the IDP Certificate added to a record for Fall graduates is October 1 of their final semester. The deadline to submit for Spring graduates is March 1 of their final semester.

Important Note About Academic Records

Please note that once the certificate has been added to a student’s academic record, it cannot be removed. If a student fails to complete the requirements by the end of their graduation term, the certificate will appear as “discontinued” on the student’s academic record.
