Join the Duke Center for International Development (DCID) and the Sanford School of Public Policy for a conversation with George Biddle, Chair of World Connect, a nonprofit that invests directly in the transformative ideas of local leaders in developing countries. Biddle is also Co-Chair of the Global Programs Committee of Women for Women International, a humanitarian organization focused on helping women rebuild their lives after war and conflict. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where he now serves as a board member.

Biddle, who is also a member of the Board of Visitors of the Sanford School of Public Policy, will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on grassroots development projects and how the disease is particularly affecting women and girls in developing countries. He will share the work of World Connect, Women for Women International and the IRC, and how humanitarian, development and advocacy organizations are mobilizing worldwide. The conversation will be led by Sarah Bermeo (DCID) and Sanford School Dean Judith Kelley.
