Dr. William Ascher, founder of DCID and professor of government and economics at Claremont McKenna College, is part of a task force that released a report last week on the opportunities and challenges of growing East Asian and Latin American economic relations. In particular, the report examines both the effects and implications of East Asian countries’ investment in Latin America. The report aims to find the path to mutual gain among East Asian, Latin American, Caribbean and North American countries, and to minimize unnecessary conflict. The report was prepared by the East Asia – Latin America Taskforce for the Pacific Basin Research Center of Soka University of America. Read the report online.
