The Chinese Academy of Sciences returned to Duke for the second year for its annual overseas training program. This program brings 20 top scientists from across China to the United States to learn about American science and technology policy.
This program has been for many years under the stewardship of Dr. Denis Simon, Vice-Chancellor of Duke Kunshan University and was administered as a joint undertaking by the Duke Kunshan University Program Office and the Duke Center for International Development.
During their time at Duke, the group participated in a week of lectures and discussions with high-level university administrators as well as a variety of faculty from many university disciplines. Following their time at Duke, the delegation travelled to Washington, D.C. where they met with representatives of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Carnegie Institute of Washington, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, the University of Maryland, the National Institute of Health, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the Consortium for Ocean Leadership.
