September - November
Assiya Abzalkyzy (MIDP 2023) is the head of the budget department at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Muhsin Atci (MIDP 2014) has been appointed as the President of the Tax Audit Board of Türkiye as of October 6, 2023.
Diana Campos (MIDP 2022) is a program coordinator of CDA Collaborative Learning Projects (CDA). She conducted the Systems Thinking - Critical Approaches for Peacebuilding workshop for MIDP/UNC Rotary fellows on October 13, 2023, at Sanford School.
Diego Haryono (MIDP 2021) is an Executive Board Assistant at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines.
Scarlett Hawkins (IDP Certificate 2023) started a new position as a Protection from Violence Specialist at Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Moldova. She was a UNC-Rotary fellow.
Thomas Kanneh (MIDP 2023) is now pursuing an MA in economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Miyazaki Kiyotaka (MIDP 2006) is a Director of the Europe Division, Middle East and Europe Department at JICA, U.S. Office. He is currently based in Washington, D.C.
Claire Retter (IDP Certificate 2023) is an analyst at Northbridge Environmental Management. She graduated from Nicholas School of Environment and is now based in Washington, D.C.
Widy Setiawan (MIDP 2023) is a tax advisor of the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance of Indonesia.
María Peñahora Cañeque Simón (MIDP 2022) is Head of Area in the Technical Cabinet of the Undersecretariat of MINCOTUR, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in Madrid, Spain.
Minoru Yamada (MIDP 2002) is a Deputy Director General at the Loan, Grant, and Property Administration Department at JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). He is based in Tokyo, Japan.
January - August
Dwinanda Ardhi (MIDP ’19) is now a PhD student in International Development at King’s College, London, England.
Youngho Cha (MIDP ’17) is now Chief Financial Officer of VTK Hung Yen IP Co, LTD. He is based in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Natalie Emery (MIDP ’19) is now the Projects and Outreach Officer for Logistics Cluster, an NGO (non-governmental organizations) that facilitates access to logistics services in humanitarian emergencies.
Shahin Huseynov (MIDP ’01) has worked with the World Health Organization for 18 years. He is now the Special Representative of the Regional Director and Head of the Kyrgyzstan Country Office. He is based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Bethany (Old) Ibrahim (MIDP ’22) is now Senior Impact and Markets Associate with Nuru International, a social venture committed to ending extreme poverty by offering locally led training in a variety of rural development sectors.
Partom Junuilt (MIDP ’14) recently completed his Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky. The title of his dissertation is “THREE ESSAYS ON CONSUMPTION TAXATION IN INDONESIA.” He will return to work with the Directorate General of Taxes in the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia in June 2023.
Esin Keles (MIDP ’14) is now Foreign Trade Manager with Ayyildiz Tunnel Equipment Manufacturing Corporation. She is based in Ankara, Turkey.
Taylor Knoedl (MIDP ’22) is now an Analyst in American National Government (Federal Statistical System) at the Library of Congress. He is based in D.C.
Jessica Maeda (MIDP '21) is a coordinator of High Specialization at the Training and Capacity Building Center at Lima, Peru.
Alan Medina (MIDP '22) is now iLab Program Manager of the Pulte Institute for Global Program at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
Gonzalo Meneses (MIDP ’23) is now a Program Officer at FHI360. He is based in Durham.
Jessica Maeda (MIDP ’21) is now an Analyst at the Women, Business, and the Law unit of the World Bank. She is based in Peru.
Diana Carolina Quintero (MIDP ’22) is now a Project Management Specialist with Producer’s Direct, working with MIDP alum, Katie Messick Maddox, COO of Producer’s Direct. She is based in Lima, Peru.
Hiroshi Saeki (MIDP ’04) continues to work for the World Banks’s Education Global Practice. He is now based in Hanoi, Vietnam with his wife. They welcomed a baby boy in 2021.
Zore Simsek (MIDP ’16) has been posted to Cambodia with the Turkish Ministry of Trade. She is now the Commerical Counselor based at the Turkish Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Madi Tazhikenov (MIDP ’22) now works with the US Embassy as a resource coordinator for monitoring and evaluation. He is based in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
Huong Lan Vu (MIDP ’22) is now a Consultant at the World Bank. She is based in D.C.
Yang-Hyeon Yang (MIDP ’11) is now a Senior Economist with the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO). AMRO is an international organization (IO) that aims to contribute to the macroeconomic and financial resilience and stability of the ASEAN+3 region—comprising 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and China; Hong Kong, China; Japan; and Korea. He is based in Singapore.
Dayong Yu (MIDP ’01) has worked with the World Trade Organization for close to 20 years and is now Chief of Market Access Intelligence Section, Economic Research and Statistics Division. He is based in Geneva.
Rossana Zetina-Beale (MIDP ’11) is now Senior Innovation Policy Analyst at RTI International.
