With World Bank assistance, faculty worked with the Government of Nigeria in 2009 to analyze the weaknesses in the taxation of oil, from licensing for extraction to capital spending of revenues.
Tax System Performance Evaluation

Faculty reviewed and provided advice to South Africa's Ministry of Finance in 2008 on the overall performance of the tax system as well as a new minerals tax policy.
Public Investment Advising

Under a sub-contract to Global Economic Advisors, faculty helped develop a public investment manual and provided technical assistance, training and advising on improving transparency and accountability of public investment in Mongolia. The project was conducted from 2007 to 2008.

With USAID funding, faculty provided technical assistance on investment expenditure analysis and program evaluation to Ministries of Finance in the states of Karnataka, Jharkhand and Uttaranchal in India. Technical advice was also provided on aspects of tax policy and electricity regulation in Karnataka. The project was conducted from 2006 to 2007.
